Heather Ferranti Kinser

Picture
Heather Ferranti Kinser has been a writer since the tender age of nine when she was bitten by a Jabberwocky, entered a state of literary amazement, and never fully recovered. She writes at the intersection of story, poetry, and nature from her home on the San Francisco Peninsula. Formerly a tech-company proofreader/copy editor, she now spends her days writing small stories—to make a big difference for kids! When she’s not writing, Heather enjoys listening to podcasts, making pesto for her family, and watching her golden mystery snail eat algae off the aquarium wall.

Her debut picture book, SMALL MATTERS: The Hidden Power of the Unseen, started as a 50-word poem. Now that’s small! Filled with scanning electron microscope images of nano-sized animal features, this photo-illustrated STEM book for kids 5-8 shows how powerful small can be! This library-bound book will make its debut April 7, 2020.

Rebecca Koehn

Picture
As a girl Rebecca loved reading. When she was in trouble books were taken away. Rebecca’s reading habit kept her from doing many things she should do, like chores, and obeying her parents. Also, it was one of the few ways her parents could punish her – it’s what she loved most. (She hid books in the bathroom towels so she could read during “bathroom breaks”). Now Rebecca is a teacher and a writer. She lives on the Kansas prairie and enjoys playing in the rain (which is a rare occurrence in Kansas) and playing board games. She no longer hides books in bathroom towels but still skips chores to read.

Rebecca's debut picture book AFTER THE RAIN will be released by BEAMING BOOKS in March of 2020.
